# Zingler Deer Processing

You hunted it. We take it from there.

Professional in-house deer processing for local Wisconsin hunters. One flat
price, your own deer back — steaks, roasts, and grind cut exactly how you
want it.

**Service area:** Central Wisconsin
**Season:** Drop-off by appointment during deer season

## Services & pricing

### Whole deer processing — $170 flat

For field-dressed deer. Includes:

- Skinning and full breakdown of your deer
- Cut to your sheet — steaks, roasts, backstraps, stew meat
- Trim ground into venison burger
- Wrapped, labeled, and frozen for pickup

Your cut sheet, your call — filled out together at drop-off (takes ~2 min):

- **Backstraps:** whole, halved, or butterflied chops
- **Hindquarters:** steaks, roasts, or a mix
- **Trim:** ground into burger, or bagged for your own sausage

### Taxidermy prep — $50

Head and cape prepared properly for your taxidermist — clean cape, ears and
face handled with care. **Tell us before you drop off:** a cape must be
prepped fresh; once a deer is frozen or has sat too long it won't hold up
for mounting.

## How it works

1. **Field dress & cool it** — dress quickly and cool the carcass; quality
is decided in the first hour.
2. **Register & tag it** — Wisconsin requires harvest registration through
the DNR before processing. Bring your confirmation number.
3. **Drop off & pick your cuts** — call ahead, bring the deer, fill out the
   cut sheet.
4. **We call, you pick up** — skinned, cut, wrapped, labeled, frozen. Pay at
pickup; bring a cooler or boxes.

## Field-care checklist

- Dress the deer as soon as possible after the shot.
- Cool the carcass to 35–40°F quickly; pack the cavity with bagged ice in
warm weather. Never lay a warm deer in a trunk or strap it across a hood.
- Wipe the cavity dry — don't soak it with water. Leave the hide on during
  transport.
- Mounting your buck? Tell us before drop-off — the cape must be cut fresh.
- Register the harvest with the Wisconsin DNR before we can take the deer.
- When in doubt, reach out before making the drive.
